Riku-Pekka Hagg, Vice President, Ship Design Wartsila Ship Power, gave an interview with World Maritime News at Nor-Shipping event which held last week in Oslo. He said that “We need to think about what you bring in to the market so that the market can adapt.Hagg also explained that on the regulatory side, one doesn’t need an enormous leap but can make baby steps to create an ecosystem which supports Autonomy.

He also spoke about Autonomy and said that the overall purpose of the alliance is to put more Autonomy in vessels and increase their safety and reliability.

Speaking about the 2025 target, Hagg spoke about the 2025 goal and said that various undertakings are yet to be completed to achieve that goal. However, the technology companies in One Sea are working toward creating solutions that would be then implemented by shipping companies and put into commercial use.
